5 Tips for Choosing LED Headlight Bulbs for Cars
Changing halogen lights to LED bulbs is one of the popular car modifications today.
However, the abundance of products on the market makes us confused and difficult to make a choice.
Here we share tips for choosing a good LED bulb for your beloved car.
1️⃣️ Lumen Rating
Lumen is a measure of the amount of light produced by a light bulb. Theoretically, the higher the Lumen rating, the brighter the LED bulb and vice versa. However, there are other factors that can affect the actual reading such as the type of chip used, bulb model, manufacturer quality and so on.
2️⃣ Colour Temperature
LED bulbs generally come in a variety of output colour temperatures. It is measured in Kelvin (K). For example 3000K, 4300K, 5000K, 6000K, 6500K, 8000K and so on. The lower the Kelvin scale, the more yellow (warm) the output and the higher the Kelvin scale, the bluer (cold) the output of the LED. The recommended output is at 5000K-6500K which provides a white light (Super White) that is more suitable for most weather and conditions. Excessive blue light (8000K and above) reduces the light's ability to penetrate the road especially in bad weather.3️⃣ LED chip types
There are various types of LED chips used. Among them are COB (chip on board), CREE, CSP, Lumileds, XHP, ZES and so on. It is very subjective to conclude which one is the best because each type of chip has its advantages and disadvantages. But based on our review, ZES and CSP chips are the best at the moment because they provide stable, bright and focused output.
4️⃣ Cooling system
Choose LED bulbs that come with a Fan Cooling System. The operation of LED bulbs requires continuous cooling due to the high output produced. If heat dissipation is not good, this will shorten the lifespan of the LED bulb.
5️⃣ QualityLook at the build quality of the LED bulb. Make sure it has a good finish and a solid feel. High-quality LED bulbs will last longer, giving you more value and satisfaction.
